The privileges apply to merchandise such as fragrances, cosmetics, chocolates, liquor, fashion apparels and accessories.

Tan Sri Bashir Ahmad said, “Our retail arm, Malaysia Airports Niaga Sdn Bhd, also known as ERAMAN Malaysia, is a significant contributor to our non-aeronautical revenue for the Group. As part of ERAMAN’s five-year business plan, the company is geared to contribute RM1 billion by 2014. As such, any initiative to drive revenue and in the process, contribute to enhance the brand awareness of ERAMAN Malaysia augurs well for the company and Group. This marketing collaboration with CIMB, along with the introduction of an online shopping portal, ‘edf’ or ‘eramandutyfree’ are brilliant strategies aimed to enhance its revenue streams, and are very much in line with Malaysia Airports constant efforts to promote greater value-added benefits for the shoppers who patronise our airports, besides facilitating another option of convenient shopping for those with time constraints”.

“We are very confident of the revenue potential from the travel retail and duty-free sector, which is expected to be an even bigger contributor in the years to come. The fact that ERAMAN Malaysia has now embarked on this collaboration with the premier force in retail banking, CIMB Bank, is certainly a step in the right direction, and we view this as a very positive and win-win business partnership,” Tan Sri Bashir added.

In addition to the discounts offered to CIMB credit card customers when shopping at ERAMAN Malaysia, other existing travel-related and shopping benefits that are accorded uniquely to them include the convenience of withdrawing foreign currencies at any time of the day at CIMB Bank’s Foreign Cash Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). Moreover, CIMB credit card customers in Southeast Asia can enjoy seamless cross-border privileges where all discounts and perks can be enjoyed by any card members irrespective of whether they are in Malaysia, Indonesia or Singapore.
